From first-time players to British champions - there is a place for everyone in the Stockbridge family.
On 30th May 2026 at Ingliston, Edinburgh, our Grade 4B drum corps won first place in drumming at the British Pipe Band Championships. We are enormously proud of this achievement and the whole team that made it possible.
Each band serves a different purpose, but all share the same values, the same Stewart of Appin Muted tartan, and the same community spirit that has defined Stockbridge Pipe Band since 1994.
The Development Band is the heartbeat of Stockbridge Pipe Band's community mission. This is where players of all ages begin their journey - whether you're a young person picking up a practice chanter for the first time, or an adult who has always wanted to give piping or drumming a go.
Experienced musicians within the band provide tuition and support, and members progress at their own pace in a friendly, encouraging environment. There are no auditions and no prior experience is required - just enthusiasm and commitment.
